Milton, Wisconsin — Milton Activities and Athletics Director Jeff Spiwak is thrilled to share with our Red Hawk Community that Milton High School Educator and Assistant Varsity Coach Ian Kirst has been selected to lead the Milton Boys Basketball program this coming season.
“Coach Kirst has been an integral part of our basketball program over the years,” Spiwak enthused.
“His contributions as a JV and Varsity assistant coach helped facilitate the turnaround of Milton basketball.”
The Milton Varsity Boys Basketball has shown steady growth over the past five years including back-to-back winning seasons and a Conference Championship in 2022. With the departure of former head coach Alex Olson, Kirst was the ideal candidate to lead the team and build upon the strong culture that has been established in recent years.
“I’m honored for the opportunity to continue to coach with the program and the players,” Coach Kirst shared. “I’m excited to continue to move forward with a coaching staff that is motivated to help our players continue to improve both on the court and in life.”
“Coach Kirst is a man of high character and integrity,” Spiwak added. “His work ethic and ability to make connections with kids…as a teacher and coach, Ian is truly committed to the success of our Milton Red Hawks in the classroom, socially, and on court.”
